What kind of photography do you offer?

I am a 100% natural light on location photographer. That is a mouthful huh?! I come with you on location and use beautiful natural light to capture your images.

Where will my session take place?

You are able to choose the location of your choice. Beautiful backyards, local parks, homes, a place that is special to you, or even an urban session. The options are endless! For newborn sessions, I can set up a studio session in your home or mine using the natural light available.

How far in advance do I book my session?

Fall sessions (September to November) are the busiest time of the year. If you are looking to have pictures done during this time, scheduling as far in advance as possible is best. For newborn sessions, babies are easier to curl and sleep heavier in the first two weeks of life, especially around days six and seven. I recommend emailing me with your due date and I will hold times open to work around when your baby actually arrives. For maternity sessions, around month 71/2 to 8 is the best time to schedule a session.

How long will my session last?

I would plan on an hour to an hour and a half. Newborn sessions tend to take a bit longer because baby likes to eat from time to time so plan more time if you are scheduling this session.

If I need to reschedule, what do I do?

If you are not feeling 100% or a child isn't feeling well, it is best to reschedule. I completely understand and am willing to work with you to make your session the best it can be. Just email me or call me to reschedule your date.

What do I wear?

I would suggest keeping it simple. Please avoid logos and be careful with stripes or busy patterns. All of these take the focus off the subject! If more than one person will be in the photographs the outfits don't have to match but should compliment each other. I would suggest picking out an outfit for one member of the family and the building the remaining outfits that coordinate with it. Layers can also be a great idea. They add beautiful texture and add to your photo.

If your session is for your children remember to let a bit of their personality show! They are only this age for a moment! Clothing choices are important. Please contact me if you have more questions and you can bring things to the session and we can work from there. If there is time in your session, clothing changes may be possible!

What do I plan on the day of the session?

Make sure everyone is well fed and rested. Make sure little ones have had a nap. That way everyone will be happy! I know that photos can be stressful because you want everything to be perfect. Try to relax and take a deep breath! Children can sense stress and if you are stressed, they will be stressed too. I usually tend to get the formal photos completed first and then let the kids be kids! I love to capture their personalities!

When am I able to see my images?

There will be a blog sneak peek 2-3 days after your session. Your complete session will be placed in my online proofing gallery within a week. You will receive an email with your password. Your gallery will be available for two weeks. If you need your pictures rehosted after that, there will be an additional $5.00 charge for four days.

When do I place my order?

Orders should be placed within two weeks of your gallery being posted. Your gallery will only be viewable during this time. This will give me time to fulfill your order and get them to you so you can display and enjoy!

Can I purchase the digital images from my session?

You are able to purchase these images after your session is complete. I recommend printing through my printer because I can ensure the best quality prints but I know that many people want these images so disks can be purchased for $100.00. They come with a usage license that gives you permission to print photos for personal use only. A 15% discount on prints is also available when you purchase the CD. A folder of web ready images is now also included. A list of recommended printers can be provided upon request.

Why do you recommend ordering prints from you rather than printing at a local store?

Simply put...photography is an art. I care deeply about how my images are seen. I carefully selected a printing company that cares just as much about the beauty of an image as I do. I have calibrated monitors and have calibrated with my printer to ensure that what is seen is what will actually be received. It also is printed on the highest quality paper and in large print orders is also mounted and protectively sprayed to ensure that your photographs will be beautiful for years and years to come.

When can I expect to receive my order?

Right now my time frame is 2-3 weeks from order placement.

Can I purchase gift certificates?

Absolutely! Gift certificates are available in any amount.

What if I want to order prints again after my session and order have been completed?

If you would like to order more images from your session, they are kept on file for 1 year and after that may no longer be available.

What payments are accepted?

Currently I accept cash or check. Payments can be dropped off or mailed directly to me. Full payment is required when placing your order. All sales are final and a 6.85% sales tax will be added.
